We took our family, including 3 kids ages 19-26 to Captiva for a special vacation, and we weren't disappointed. Jensen's is low-key, no pool or tennis court. About a dozen rooms, some stand alone houses. We had a fabulous view of the ocean, very comfortably decorated with a full kitchen. Right on the beach. There was a place you could grill out right outside the door. You could walk to the town of Captiva easily by beach or street. The library was 1 block away for WiFi access. They rent jet skis on the beach. You can walk to the Mucky Duck restaurant. Our kids loved it-we were afraid they might be bored. The people who run it are very helpful. One downside is it's close to the road which took a little getting used to with the noise. Not all rooms have ocean view, you have to ask. There's a golf course on Sanibel if you want to play. Family owned and just a nice place to stay. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the PO BOX for our honeymoon, and it was wonderful. The earlier reviews helped a lot in our selection. We didn't want a resort, and we got a family style operation, low key, but attentive. The Jensens were great and very accommodating.We arrived late and tired and they had the room all set up for us. Little touches like this and changing the foot wash water each morning, even putting a hibiscus flower in it one day, were nice touches. Like other reviews - this is not the place if looking for room service, drinks with umbrellas in them by the pool, and not being able to tell if you're in Hawaii or South Carolina. This is a great local place, perfect for a nice stay at the beach. Its like staying at a beach cottage from the '70s. The only issue was that the price didn't reflect the 70's, but still it is comprable to other places on Sanibel & Captiva. Thanks Jensens.
