I read all the reviews for most of the hotels on Treasure Island and noticed that all of them had quite a few negative remarks but the Thunderbird did not so I took the chance and booked a room. I travelled with my sister-in-law and we arrived early on the day we were to check in. The front desk clerk told us that our room was ready and we went right in. The room was very clean and very nice. We chose to book a room with the ocean view and it was beautiful!!! The beach is one of the most beautiful ones that I've ever seen and the pool is clean and very nice. This is definitely a "family" friendly place and the staff was very accommodating. We needed to stay an extra night and had booked a room next door at the Sea Castle (which is owned by the same property). We really didn't want to have to move next door because we were enjoying ourselves so much at the Thunderbird. Barbara at the front desk arranged for us to move only one room over and cancelled our reservations for us at the Sea Castle free of charge. Barbara recommended a great, great seafood place across the street from us...I believe it is called Middle Ground Grill and even called to make the reservation for us!!! The Thunderbird made arrangements for the staff to move our baggage to our new room while we were enjoying the beach. We went up to our room and there was a bit of an odor and we asked Mary the hotel maid to come check it out. Mary was so very, very nice and re-mopped the entire room with us completely without an attitude and was so sweet to us about it. I will definitely return to the Thunderbird many, many, many times. It is the coolest hotel on the beach. Oh...and it's close to everything you need....Publix, Walgreens and just a few minutes drive from John's Pass and pretty much anything else you want to do...Great place!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you are looking for a stuffy place like the Hilton, you cannot go wrong here!
