Anna Maria is a beautiful, relaxing, and all around great get away location. I searched reviews on the various hotels, then went several times up and down the island looking at various places before deciding on one for a nice romantic day for two. Bungalow was certainly it. The rooms are light, comfortable, and clean. The location can't be beat. Overall I'd say this is one of the top places to stay on the island as far as I can tell.

AG Casa Marina located directly on the Gulf of Mexico in Bradenton Beach. Anna Maria Island is one of the last unspoiled areas in Florida and offers so many adventures. A forty five minute drive South to Sarasota can be a day of activities including; a visit to John and Mable Ringling Art Museaum, Jungle Gardens, Mote Marine or Historical Spanish Point. An hour drive North to Tampa can also offer excitement. Enjoy a day of amusement at Busch Gardens and/or walk directly across the street for water slide haven at Adventure Island. My husband, our three dogs, and I stayed for one weeknight. It was beautiful and updated. The bed was so comfortable that when I woke up for second during the night, I thought that I was at home! We were on the second floor, not facing the beach but that was okay for our short stay. ]The exterior is a like a small Spanish Villa with a small pool, courtyard area. Very cute. It would be great to rent up the whole place with family/friends. The picnic area is between Alamanda and the beach/pier. No problem with that either. There is a great little place across the street if you like cheeseburgers, fries and beer. There is a public beach/parking on one side of the Villas, but since we were there on a weekday we didn't experience loudness, etc. We found out that several places in the Bradenton Beach/Anna Maria Island allow pets--but they are not allowed on the beach, even if leashed and you pick up after them. So this was quite problematic, as there aren't many options for safely walking your dog. Now we know to look up pet-friendly beaches, then seek out pet-friendly lodging. On the plus side, we were thrilled that there are places that accept three well-behaved dogs, as most have a weight limit and you can only bring two.

We were driving to Central Florida when we learned we could move our stay to be at Anna Maria Island. I had read an article in Southern Living, and I started searching for a place to stay while driving in the car and we found this location. I called, and Carolyn was very nice - giving us a good price on a great room. My husband and I put a premium on "space" - and room #11 was glorious. We had been in the car all day, and walking into this room was such a relief after staying in a Hampton the night before. This room must be about 600 sq feet - which was really nice - and it overlooks the pool. There's a kitchen, dining area, den, and two bedrooms with one very large bathroom. So much nicer than a corporate room! The location was great - we walked to the beach grill for two meals, took towels to the beach, and just walked on the beach as well.
