I recently attended a 4th of July family reunion nearby and, after reading the reviews of others, I actually cancelled two days of our original four day reservation and made reservations at a hotel close to the Palm Beach airport. However, once we arrived at the Royal Inn and met up with my brother's family who was staying there also, we became so comfortable there I cancelled my other reservations and stayed here the entire four days. Suite was quite large, with a living room area, bedroom area, kitchen complete with microwave, coffee pot, toaster, dishes, and a full size refrigerator. The kitchen and bathroom had been recently upgraded with new tile and fixtures. While the carpet and living room furniture were outdated and showing quite a bit of wear, they were not offensive in any way. We checked carefully for bedbugs and found no evidence of them. Mattresses seemed new and comfortable; we always remove bedspreads in motels anyway, so no problem there. We had a nice balcony overlooking a lake and had a great view of fireworks. The on site restaurant is a good Mexican one, with a large menu and outdoor lounge. The pool and area around it are outstanding. Cleanliness was ok- could use an overall Spring cleaning, but not bad. For under $80 a night it was a good value. I do recommend the suites over the regular rooms as I think they are nicer. Bring your own shampoo, lotion, etc. They only supply bar soap. Internet is available only in the lobby. Lots of nice shopping centers nearby, and several restaurants. Located on Southern Blvd., a major thoroughfare: easy to navigate to beaches (suggest Lake Worth Beach about 10 miles away), shopping, airport, Lion Country Safari, Lake Okeechobee. |
