I just returned from the Tahitian Resort of Treasure Island Florida today. I have stayed there before and prefer the atmosphere of the Treasure Island of days gone-by. I do not want to stay in condos for a much greater cost per day--or ride an elevator to get to my room. It is conveniently located for walking to near-by restaurants and stores. The team members are kind and caring. I also had the pleasure of meeting a "Saint" at the Thunderbird on May 9, 2009. I had gone to Publix and was "lugging, panting, and strugling" with several quart bottles. I stopped at the Thunderbird to see if there was an available room for my son who was coming from Fort Meyers, FL. I also mentioned that I was glad to cool-off in there because I was taking groceries back to the Tahitian with me and thought I was going to die before I got there (an exageration of course and somewhat dramatic). This wonderful lady ( I think the staff at the Tahitian call her "Miss Janet") gave me a wonderful pull-cart that was in lost and found to complete my journey. All I had to do was return it to the Tahitian's front desk. The staff members there returned it to the Thunderbird. This act of kindness set the pace for the rest of my visit. Treasure Island has a wide beach, and of course it is a big walk to get there! Countless people use the sidewalk for exercise for both them and their pets. You are special at your resorts. The main points include "older rooms"(that have been updated) that I prefer, wonderful team members extending across the spectrum, and a beautiful beach. It has a great free business center!!! With the reasonable prices, one can't expect that he/she is staying @ the Palcace or the Ritz. Just enjoy what is available. Sharon Benson
