Bush- the governor of Florida
Born in a very strong politically established family, Jeb Bush has proved
that he is no less. He is the forty-third and the current governor of
Florida.
Jeb bush was born on February 11, 1953; he spent his early years in
Texas, he finished his schooling in a private boarding school in Massachusetts.
His friends describe him as a very disciplined and focused person.
He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin; where he met his
first date Columba garnica Gallo, whom
he consequently married. Bush started off his career with an entry level
position in the international division of Texas commerce bank. Soon he
was flourishing well in his work, where he attracted a lot of prospects
for his bank in Venezuela. But then he quit his job and he left to United
States to campaign for his father.
Jeb bush is known for his charitable and civic activities, he started
the non-profit organization called “ the foundation for Florida’s
future” where he wanted to influence the public policy to all people.
He also assisted the Miami children’s hospital when time permitted.
Jeb bush also underwent a religious transformation, where he got converted
into a catholic, initially he was a protestant. He can converse in Spanish
in addition to English.
For most of his career, Bush has also been a voiced promoter of environmentalism,
signing legislation to save from harm the Everglades and opposing federal
plans to drill for oil off the coast of Florida.
In 1998, Bush defeated Democratic adversary Lt. Governor Buddy MacKay
(55% to 45%) to become governor. Concurrently, his brother George W. Bush
won a landslide re-election success for a second term as Governor of Texas,
and the Bush brothers became the first siblings to preside over two states
at the same time.
As governor, Bush serves as the chairman of the Florida Cabinet, a unique
state agency which provides combined supremacy over division of state
government. On the national-level, he is a member of the National Governors
Association, the Southern Governors' Association, and the Republican Governors
Association.
