Air traffic controllers at Tampa International Airport are now disputed with the Federal Aviation Administration with over brighter lighting in the dim radar room. The controller's union told the St. Petersburg Times the new lighting makes it much harder to see aircraft on the radar screens. The FAA has made a decision, which safety in the control room is more vital than keeping airplanes apart, said Pat McCormick, president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association at the Tampa control tower. |
