Traces of red tide along with supplementary nasty minute algae are once more screening up on some southwest Florida beaches. The good news is that there has been no news of fish kills or injury to other ocean creatures. Globs of toxic algae are growing off Collier and Lee county beaches, officials say. And traces of Karenia brevis, which causes Florida's red tide, have been noticed off Siesta Key near Sarasota for the initial time since the conclusion of one of the nastiest blooms in Florida's history five months ago. |
